For the Sake of the Image

Dan (Walwin) is in a show, For the Sake of the Image at the Jerwood Gallery curated by one of the contestants for The School of Saatchi, Suki Chan.

Dan’s showing a film that stars his mum and dad, (my sister and brother-in-law.) which feels slightly unnerving to have them on a screen in a major gallery space in London. (as they were’nt there and wouldn’t see it too.) Dan’s piece suspends you.

Suki Chan’s films are beautiful and mesmerizing, it was really hard to see as everyone crowded into the projection space where her films were playing. Felt a little odd somehow.
