Here is my mandoline. A brilliant little gadget for slicing vegetables thinly. (esp. for potaotes, see Boulangere and Dauphinois recipes) I’ve had mine about 10 years and it’s still going strong. I like this one cause it’s light, (plastic) not cumbersome and does the job really well. I like practical products with really good design that makes them a pure pleasure to use….
BUT! Be very, very careful with this, especially if it’s brand new, when the blades will literally be razor sharp. The plastic guard that come with the mandoline to protect your fingers are usually too awkward to use and possibly as dangerous to use if it slips.
