Veg Box Twenty

So this is what I had in my ‘small fruit box’ and ‘medium veg box’ from Organic Wick last weekend….

2 turnips, 5 onions, 2 green peppers, broccoli, mixed young salad leaves, flat mushrooms, little apples, Kiwis, a pineapple and a grapefruit.

I had carrots left from last weeks veg box, so I made a Thai Carrot Curry using a couple of the onions and added the peeled sliced turnips from this weeks box.  The turnips worked a treat in the curry. The flavour had softened, (as had their texture and really succulent too.) and worked beautifully with the Thai flavourings and coconut milk.

I’m using the broccoli and a couple more of the onions to roast under (yes I said under…) a chicken, and a salad will be made with some of the kiwis and salad leaves with a crumbling of feta over the top.

The green peppers are roasting in the oven to be peeled and dressed in olive oil and garlic over night and the mushrooms are working hard as a piece of art…..laters…..
